Because I am having too much fun playing with this 'five words' writing exercise, and [livejournal.com profile] southoffebruary just started one for The X-Files over in her LJ, here...

Listed below for your entertainment are a few of my own five-word X-Files drabbles.

Dana Scully, season 1:
I'm not ready to believe.

Fox Mulder, "Paper Hearts":
Safety: curved against Scully's hip.

Alex Krycek:
I'm never what you think.

Cool beans! I've been thinking about doing this for one of my fandoms, but haven't gotten past the contemplative stage thus far ;).

All of them have been really good so far, but I clearly haven't understood any of them except this one! I particularly like the Krychek one, actually. I recently downloaded like 20 icons of him, but haven't had the chance to upload any of them yet. Bah!

Also, I love Mulder's, set in Paper Hearts. Awww....what a beautiful, touching, brilliant episode!!

Thank you, Sonnett! *hugs you* I appreciate your encouragement.

(And I should have known you'd enjoy an X-Files batch. Heeee. Pity "It's not aliens, Mulder!" is only four words. HAHAHA)

;D

Thank you so much, [livejournal.com profile] inlaterdays! I'm so pleased you like them. And it's nice to see you back on LJ. :)

Especially the Krycek one, of course. :D

But of course. Heeeee.

Thank you, Susan!

I'm particularly proud of that Krycek one. In the moment, it just seemed like there were no other words for him but those five. I think it's apt in describing him, and of course, your take on his character is a big influence on my view of him being that way. Okay, Nick Lea's portrayal helps, too, but really... it's mostly your fault I see him like that. HAHAHA

:D

Yay! Do it do it do it, Mel! *chuckles* Seriously though, it's quite addictive once you start trying to write five words. I would love to do a few for each of the fandoms I enjoy. It's really fun.

All of them have been really good so far, but I clearly haven't understood any of them except this one!

What? You don't watch The West Wing?!? That is TRAGIC! *laughing uproariously* Okay, okay, not everyone has to like the same shows that I do, but I'm tickled that you read my 'five words' for that show anyway, even if you weren't familiar. And I'm so glad you like these for XF... I was hoping you'd come by and check 'em out, being such the XF fan that you are. Heeee.

I particularly like the Krychek one, actually. I recently downloaded like 20 icons of him, but haven't had the chance to upload any of them yet.

Nice! And thank you. I always found his character intriguing (though somewhat frustrating, too, heh), but after I started reading Bardsmaid's fanfic, especially her Sanctuary series and her Krycek backstory pieces, I began to look at him with a much more intent view. Her 'take' on his character definitely influences how I look at his character and why I wrote his 'five words' that way. I really do think it's true about him, that he's never exactly what you think, that his actions always have more to them than we know.

Also, I love Mulder's, set in Paper Hearts. Awww....what a beautiful, touching, brilliant episode!!

Oh, yay! I'm so happy you like that one! Paper Hearts is one of my favorite XF episodes... I've never actually made a list of my top ten or twenty XF eps, but I know that one's up there. It's just an all-around awesome episode. Unusual, clever, tense, and emotionally moving. And I love that it actually makes me question for the first time that Samantha may not have been taken by aliens (or the Consortium). I felt almost as confused and thrown as Mulder was. LOL. I love that episode so much. And the moment at the end when he leans against Scully's hip is probably sexier to me than couples kissing on most other programs. There was just so much there, lying underneath, without being over-the-top or obvious, you know what I mean? It's just so loving and trusting and comforting and sweet, all in one quick motion. It took my breath away the first time I saw it. Those 'five words' are my lame attempt at capturing that moment.

:)

Anyway, I hope you're having a beautiful Sunday.

Thank you, Courtney! I appreciate that so much.

P.S. How's your garden doing? Have you enjoyed any produce from it yet? :D
