I have to say that your current Christmas-season solitude seems to fit in very well with what goes on The Night Before--not an empty feeling, but moments that bring those small touches of kindness we look back and later and find very significant. Hope you enjoy it.

And yes, that's my tree this year. Glad you like the picture! It's a touch blurry, I think because of the glowing Christmas lights (and no other lights on in the apartment), but I like the hazy look it provides.
