I get to sleep in tomorrow morning!

(Well, today. Later this morning. For it is now after midnight.)

Anyway, the point is, I get to sleep in! Whoo!

Of course, even though it's a holiday, the rest of the day will be spent like every other damn day of my current life: working out and doing homework.

The irony of it being 'independence day' while I spend it chained to my computer and my schoolbooks is NOT lost on me.

But hey -- any morning I get extra sleep is A-OK. Can't WAIT.

My fellow citizens... HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Irony-filled or not.

Yay for you getting to sleep in! \o/ Personally, I'm going to pick some berries, work on T6 (I just have to figure out who's scene starts this day) and later we're going to the range, since Paul has a new toy to try out.

Oooh, what kind of berries? Yummy!

It kills me that you are already on T6 and I'm not reading it right now right along with you as you write! I want to be reading it SO MUCH. But I'm swamped with school at the moment. After this weekend I've got 2 1/2 more weeks to go, and the syllabus for each class is killing me. It's become really difficult to balance getting it all done. (Case in point: for one class, each week we have to read 2 or 3 chapters -- and of course it takes me longer because I take notes for studying -- and we have to do an assignment for each chapter, take 2 quizzes for each chapter, and an exam (combined material for 2 or 3 chapters, depending on the week). That's just the one class. The other class is a business course, and there's lots of reading for that as well (2 or 3 chapters per week), plus assignments, and group projects, and exams. I'm treading water to keep up, but it feels like each day the water gets just a little closer to my chin, you know?

I cannot wait to be done with this semester. It may be the last summer semester that I'll have to take 2 classes, because by next summer I think I'll only have 2 or 3 classes left to take, and it's most likely that not all of them will even be available to take during the summer so I'll probably have to wait. And be glad to do it. Because summer sessions are KILLER.

(Though I'd say Alex Krycek would probably tell me that his life's tougher. And he's right. LOL. He'd probably want to punch Mulder in the face if he'd heard him whining about all the college course work he'd had to take at Oxford. What's tougher, Mulder? Taking classes and learning stuff, or having to live the life that CSM made Krycek live as a child and then as a young adult? What a nightmare that would be. Then again, it's also probably made him stronger, so... there's that silver lining, if one must be found. *GRIN*)

Raspberries! I should have picked the ones under the walnut tree yesterday, because some are past their prime now, but I guess the bugs will enjoy them. We ended up going to the range this morning, so we just got back and scrounged around for a late lunch. Sadly, my accuracy seemed to be on vacation this time, not sure why. And now I'm ready for a nap rather than writing. But hopefully after that I'll be inspired. It always seems to be a hump to get over to decide on a scene to start the chapter, and so far I haven't figured that one out. But efforts are continuing.

Re K's silver lining: I've been thinking about that in terms of T--that at some point Alex is going to realize that having grown up knowing what he knows, he's in a better position than nearly anyone else to fight what's coming. He's been prepared and toughened for it.

Hope you get a small break of some sort during this crush of summer studying. And that you enjoy yourself once it's finally past. Hugs!
