One of the classes I'm taking this summer is Intro to Psychology. It's one of the gen ed courses required to be taken as part of my associates degree, even though I already took Sociology back when I got my Bachelor's Degree but apparently that doesn't count for my humanities section credits for my new degree so they're forcing me to take extra classes that -- while interesting -- have nothing much to do with all the skills that I actually need to learn in order to do my job... but that's a whole other topic of minorly bitter conversation and I digress.
I'm currently reading about the brain's development before birth, and I just read the most depressing sentence:
"On the day you were born, you had most of the brain cells you would ever have."
So... when we joke that we're losing brain cells, we're not really kidding?
;D
I need all the brain cells I've got!
Okay, okay, back to my homework. I've got to finish reading this chapter, do the online assignment and take 2 quizzes about it yet TONIGHT.
Maybe if I had more brain cells, I'd be more committed to getting my homework done.

And ITA about so many of the rigid 'requirement' courses... especially when you already have a higher degree where you covered your general ed requirements. So bizarre to request that people retread areas already covered. 0_o
::sending cool--and unstressed--thoughts your way:
Oh, and I had a revelation in the shower today! There was a central plot point in Topaz that a lot of other plot points were hanging on, but I was starting to wonder whether there was sufficient logical imperative behind it, which could have led to a nasty 'house of cards' type of collapse of my story structure. And then today a new detail I'd been tossing around made me realize this new move by the consortium is totally what I need in the way of motivation to make the other thing happen. \o/

Take care and I will be sending nice calming...un-stressful? de-stressful? I'm not sure..thoughts your way.
