ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!
I thought to myself, it's only noon. I can whip through this particular graphics tutorial in about an hour. Should be no problem.
Unless, of course, the tutorial SUCKS.
Let us review:
tutorial |t(y)oōˈtôrēəl|
adjective
of or relating to a tutor or a tutor's instruction : tutorial sessions.
noun
a period of instruction given by a university or college tutor to an individual or very small group.
an account or explanation of a subject, printed or on a computer screen, intended for private study.
ORIGIN early 18th cent.: from Latin tutorius (see TUTOR ) + -AL.
***
"Instruction."
"An account or EXPLANATION..."
I think they need to add the word 'thorough' or 'detailed' or 'HELPFUL' to that definition, because the 'tutorial' I tried to follow was lacking in so much information that I needed other tutorials to help me with their stupid tutorial. Seriously.
And now it is 3 HOURS LATER, I'm finally finished, but I've lost so much of my afternoon. Which wouldn't have happened if the person writing the 'tutorial' knew how to write steps in proper sequence or in wording that makes any sort of sense and matches with the actual tools of the software program.
You start to wonder, did these people even test out this tutorial first before posting it? Did they give it to friends of different skill levels to see if they could follow it?
I'm thinking NOT.
