This is it!

My last "first day of school."

After 3 years of taking classes and working toward an associate degree, I'm about to take my final class.

Wednesday nights from 7 PM to 10 PM. Oh boy.

I'm a little nervous, as I always am when starting a new class, not knowing what to expect and whether I'll be able to handle it and learn it properly. But I just have to keep focused and remember that I will be DONE in 8 weeks.

And that will be it. I'll still learn on the side, probably take a class or an online tutorial here and there, to keep up my skills, but I won't have to do this kind of grind, where it's nonstop studying and projects and mental exhaustion.

I'm really looking forward to completing this and finally having more room in my schedule to spread my wings and try some new things.

I can't WAIT.

Just 8 weeks...

All the best of luck to you! Happy for you and I know what that's like. I'd like to start working towards a bachelor's degree in business or start that paralegal's program now; it looks like that will have to wait until the spring but I'm excited for you! Given how much time over the last 4 years I've spent in the court system, I may as well get more out of it besides gray hair and aggrevation...

Thanks! It actually went pretty well. A classmate I met last semester turned up in this class, which is cool. Nice to have friendly faces. And the teacher seemed very laid-back and clear with his instructions, so I feel like I'll be able to handle whatever he gives us. (I hope. LOL.) And if not, I feel like he's the kind of teacher who will be willing to help me figure it out.

As I mentioned to another poster, it actually went pretty well. A classmate I met last semester turned up in this class, which is cool. Nice to have friendly faces. I am pretty good! My favorite holiday is nearly upon us. ;) Anyway, struggling to get by from one month to the next, as always, but pretty much surviving. Filled with self-hatred over not having properly updated my LJ in nearly 5 months. (/sobs) I am still working on that monster update, which grows, of course, by the day. No one will read it, because at this point reading Moby Dick would probably take less time, but I have to do it anyway. Out of sheer stubbornness. For posterity!

Not good. He was rearrested on a false charge of parole violation. I got new papers from him last week and now this little bitch is accusing him of a sexual abuse charge; I have already given the DA information from Google where she was advertising herself as a sex worker online with a club! This girl wants him locked up for refusing to marry her ass, not for a real crime. The accusation of 'domestic violence' was a ruse. You have to understand she's Guyanese Indian and Queens has already been beaten badly behind 2 high profile cases where the Guyanese individual was caught in a flagrant lie. The second case involved a Guyanese woman and man; he literally destroyed her life, business, credit and reputation because she refused to marry him. It was one of his toads who finally went to the cops and told the whole sordid story, too late to restore her financially but his ass got 40 years and he was STILL threatening her in court! An attorney friend looked at the papers my son filed in rebuttal (and I'm doing a letter to the Feds to support his petition) and told us who to send them to and to keep pushing this. The DA does NOT want to bring this girl in to testify because she perjured herself in court and they would rather hang him because he looks Black. Like his father and I, my son is half Native Indian; she thinks there's money in that, along with his military benefits and disabled vet status. Sherry, he doesn't get much of a pension; I don't understand the greed that goes with this. We know she's a sociopath but I think it's worse than that. I will eventually contact a reporter for help to end this shit because he's losing his hearing in one ear and his problems with his bones are getting worse. This won't end for some time, I'm afraid but I need him home. I think I tore something in my right shoulder; if I try to reach for something, the nerves in my arm go numb and the muscles feel like they're on fire.
