Okay, so I really, really wanted a Tenth Doctor/David Tennant user pic, and darling, generous greatbriton gave me the opportunity to ask for one when she posted this meme in her LiveJournal.

In fact, she went well beyond the call of duty because she let me make suggestion after suggestion, and then she let me send her some photos, all so she could make me what I envisioned in my crazy little mind. In fact, I told her she should change her name to "ReallyfreakingawesomeBriton" because "great" no longer covered how wonderful she's been. But she wisely decided to keep her user name, because that's really long and tiring to type. *GRIN*

Anyway, the meme she used stated that the first ten people to comment to her post would get a customized icon of their choosing. In return, the requester has to post the same meme in their journal and offer to do something creative that they enjoy (like writing fiction, or making icons, or whatever).

GreatBriton made me some fun user pics (see above for one of them, whoo!), so it's my turn to offer something of myself. I can't make cool icons, I don't have the tools or knowledge for such a thing, but I can offer something else:

I can write for you.

Therefore, the first TEN people to comment in this post (heh, my chatty replies will not be included in the count) get to request a writing of their choosing from me. It can be a review/commentary of a favorite television episode, or it can be a piece of fanfiction. If it's fiction, you can even suggest a pairing, or name an individual character you'd prefer I focus on. (Within reason. I have a small handful of things I won't write, but I'm generally flexible.) Who knows? Your requests may help me jump-start my creative writing muse, which is always a good thing.

Fandoms I can do:

The X-Files, The West Wing, Supernatural, Bones, NCIS, or Prison Break. Firefly, possibly.

I can even try Farscape or Doctor Who, but I'm new to those shows so I don't know how strong the character voices will be (I'd have to take the time to watch some episodes and try to get them into my head, in order to do them right).


I can't promise anything extraordinarily lengthy (after all, ten stories and/or reviews is a lot to put together and it will obviously take me some time), but I will do my very best to write something (one hopes) entertaining and interesting for you to read.

I don't like when memes force you to post in your own journal, so if you request something from me and don't feel that you have the time or creative interest to offer something to your own f-list, don't feel obligated to post this in your journal.

However, if you are motivated to give it a try in a way that you can offer, go for it. The possibilities are out there: fiction, drabbles, icons, vids, meta, whatever you like! I'd love to see what you may be inspired to create.

So. greatbriton did such an amazing job and was so generous with her time that I offer her first crack at suggesting something she'd like me to write. (Briton, I don't believe it will occur, but if ten people happen to post before you, don't feel like you can't suggest something -- I will make the time to write for you, no matter what! I owe you big for all the work you put in to make those icons for me. *hugs*)

I would really love, if its at all possible, some Booth/Angela. Doesn't have to be all...shippy or anything like that. Just some scene or situation with them being the main focus is all. The show didn't give them enough scenes together and they were so good. I loved their little banter and slight flirting.

Besides, Booth and Angela have a well-established banter on the show; at least, from my point of view they seem like wonderful friends and I always loved how well they seemed to 'get' each other, even all the way back in season 1.

Hmmmm... I'll have to think on this, see what stirs up. *GRIN* I'll post it on my LJ when it's done and make sure to alert you to it.

I love you for requesting West Wing. That was the source of my very first fan fiction -- reading it and writing it. I would be delighted to write a Toby and Josh friendship fic for you, my darling Jordan. And I hope it doesn't disillusion you even further. *GRIN*

You know what would be awesome? I remember after you finished watching Farscape you mentioned that you were considering writing a response to it. I'd love to see that, if you feel like it, what you thought of different parts of the show. I haven't read much Farscape meta (though I'm sure it's out there), and I bet you'd write something really interesting (or weepy and flaily, which totally works too, LOL). oh oh oh svu......... i can't even. i started watching it just a few months ago (i'm still catching up and am in season 8 of 10) because i had developed a huge fancrush on chris meloni after watching oz, and jenn (surreallis) was totally egging me on! and it's the most angsty show ever. the ust between liv (mariska hargitay) and elliot (chris meloni) is insane, and dick wolf, the evil mastermind who created all those law and order nightmares, has refused to make them go to bed together. or face up to their emo-fuckwittedness or even just talk!! and i can't stop watching it and it just gets darker and darker emotionally.

so bones is my happy place show (which is kinda funny since there are always rotting corpses everywhere), but it's so just sweet, and everyone knows that booth and bones are meant to be including the show runners, so that's where things'll go and that makes me relaxed and happy and not so worried all the time. oh yeah. tv is for relaxing and escaping, right?

and anyway, you'll do great writing bones and booth! it's fun to try a challenge right? jack will always be there waiting for you to come back to him and angela. booth knows he's in love with bones; she just needs a push to figure it out for herself! so go shove 'em!!!!

You know what's funny? I saw your name in my email inbox, and I totally thought you were going to have me write Booth/Brennan! *laughs uproariously* I was not expecting Cam/Hodgins at all! Aww, isn't it so nice when someone makes you icons? I've been a whiny little whiner in the past before and begged people to make me icons, haha! This, however, does not sound like a whine request, so yay for that, LOL ;)

Another person on my f-list also posted this same meme. And while I'd totally love to do it right now, all I can really offer is fic ;). And considering I now currently have 4 unfinished fanfics that NEED to get done in the next month or so, I just don't think I can offer anything up at the moment :). Don't worry, I'm not requesting anything. I just wanted to come comment :)

So, which Bones episodes are best to watch for getting a good sense of the two of them and their banter, Mel? Do you have any you can recommend for decent Cam & Hodgins scenes? I figure, if anyone would know, it would be you! :D

Um, there's some decent stuff in season 3....but I'd have to do some research.

In this season, the stuff that immediately comes to mind is:

"The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond"
"The Bone that Blew" (this is the single episode that won me over....wow, I need a life) ;)

In all honesty, they don't ever have a hell of a lot of screen time together. I really think a lot of what I've written for them has just come from small interactions and then I've extrapolated.

I'll check out my "cadgins" tag on my journal and see what I come up with. Or my "thought" tag, which I usually put for episode thoughts.

I really felt like after "The Bone that Blew", they were getting a LOT more screen time together. But if you want a more productive list, give me a little bit of time. One of their first interactions back in season 2 is hilarious too. He calls her a "wanktard" ;). I think I used that in one of my fics once. Or I meant to, if I haven't already, haha!

Anyway, to me it seems like they've come a long way from the beginning of the season until now. There was definite tension/minor animosity between them back at the beginning of the season. But in the last 10 episodes or so, they really have started to act more like friends - grinning at each other, smirking at each other, seeming more comfortable and content in their interactions.

"The Princess and the Pear" is another one with slightly more interaction. Oh! And in my warped mind, there was some significance in "The Fire in the Ice". Here is the link to that post in my journal. Skip down to the bolded part :). You can ignore the rest. I was still kind of squee-y about Bones at this point. Two episodes later, I was fast becoming ready to give it up, ROFL! How things change so quickly ;)

And these are very helpful comments. I don't treasure watching some of this season's episodes, but it will help me to get a good sense of them to watch some of that evolution you discuss.

Also? I totally remember the time he called her a 'wanktard.' One of the funniest moments on the show. I love that word! I used it in my Jack/Angela fic a couple months ago because it amused me so much and was so very 'Jack.'

I'm new to NCIS fandom (only since January of this year), but I love it. I feel like I fell in love with it partly because it seems to be doing everything that Bones has dropped the ball on, you know what I mean? In fact, I think I got more annoyed with Hart Hanson, the more I found myself enjoying NCIS. It's been on for six years already and it still tries to develop its characters and keep them in character as best as possible, and they work as a quirky team. Whereas Bones fell apart by mid-season 3. *shakes head*

Anyway, I would absolutely love to try writing NCIS. Who are your favorites? Anything in particular you'd like, any characters you prefer I focus on, or do you want me to surprise you?

Heh. Exactly. I wasn't sure about Tony at first, but I like how they've developed him. I always like when you think one thing about him, and all of a sudden you realize he's been paying attention or he has the answer Gibbs needs, and you see he knows what he's doing. He just acts like a joker in between sometimes and that behavior often overshadows the talents. But no matter what, I definitely like him.

I adore Abby and McGee. Sometimes I wish we could have seen more of their dating relationship. Other times, I think it's kind of cool how the writers merely hint at it, or show slivers of jealousy on Tim's part or on Abby's part, so you know they do care about each other and are attracted to each other, even if they aren't a regular couple. It's unconventional. And I love it when they have their geek moments together, when they're working together to figure something out, and they're sharing Caf-Pow and high-fiving each other for their techno skills. It's so much fun to watch.

If you are so inclined, tell me what you like about Abby and McGee. (And Tony, if you like.)
