It's been a long time since someone's come home early and busted me... singing at the top of my lungs with almost complete abandon.
Um.
...
Oops.
I think I'm still beet red.
To my aunts' credit, they quietly waited until I was done with the song, then they both came upstairs, stood in my doorway together and said, "Good job! That was really good. We liked it."
I hadn't even realized they'd come home.
*GROAN*
If you need me, I'll be hiding in my room with my head under the pillows.

Date: 2011-01-09 01:52 am (UTC)My aunt's been home all week on vacation for the holidays, so I haven't been singing at all (but wanted to). I knew I'd been holding back all week because I didn't want to sing in front of my family. And then this happens. LOL.
It's one of those wacky occasions. You know that saying about how life should be like dancing (or singing?) like no one's watching? That's how I was tonight. I thought no one was watching, so I was going full out. Like I was back in school, performing, or something. I'm not sure my aunts have ever heard me sing like that.
*facepalm*
It's been almost 2 hours now, and my face still feels like it's beet red. *GRIN*
I guess I was just in the mood to sing and there was no stopping me! Heee.
I'm glad you do that, too. I just read your most recent post... sounds like you could use some lightness and joy, my friend. *Massive HUGS* For what it's worth, I understand. I really, really do. I'm still out of work, I've gotten no calls for my most recent applications, and my savings is not going to last much longer. I need a job. And I know you (and your mom) understand that very, very well. Unfortunately. *hugs you again*
Thanks for feeling me! You know, in an appropriate sort of way. ;D
P.S. Loving the MJ icon. Makes me want to listen to his music now. *cues it up on the iTunes*

Date: 2011-01-09 02:27 am (UTC)Aww, but I bet you were great! Sometimes you just have to go full out, and screw the consequences. ;)
Yeah, it's just really tough right now. Even with everything going on, my mom's unemployment runs out in April. She can reapply, of course, but we have no idea if she'll still be eligible/if she is what the amount will be, etc. It's just a big mess, but I know you understand (though I wish you didn't).
P.S. Eeee, sweet! You know I will always gladly accept blame for sure things. ;) We are totally watching This Is It right now with the volume way up. My mom is humming very loudly along to "Earth Song" (it's her favorite). I've probably watched TII in chunks at least 10 times in the past couple weeks (various movie channels have been playing it a LOT since December), and I never get sick of it. So amazing.
