Rotten day
Jan. 7th, 2012 06:57 pmI'm having a bad day.
I went to a printer last night, to get a project printed out, but discovered today that they had not cut the pages to my specifications, so all the margins were off. My fault. I should have double-checked before I left the printer's, but they looked right so I didn't measure them against my template page.
So today I had to trudge back to the printer (not a short trip), and they were unable to print my files. The same files they were able to print last night without issue. And they blamed it on my PDF files anyway. When I haven't touched them since they printed them out yesterday. And they didn't really care to try another computer (even though I recalled the guy from last night saying he didn't like this one particular computer because it made things print out all wacky), and they weren't interested in going the extra mile to, you know, TRY ANYTHING ELSE to see why it worked on their equipment last night but not today.
So I still have to find someone to print my damn files.
(Which I can't do myself because my printer doesn't have the capability to print on the size paper I need, nor do I have on hand the kind of cardstock I need for printing this particular project. So I'm at the mercy of these 'brilliant' people, trying to find the one who can do it correctly.)
Then I trucked all the way home to make dinner for me and my aunts, only to accidentally leave the heat on 'high' instead of remembering at the critial point in cooking that it needs to be turned down to 'simmer' for the final 10 minutes. I've made this dish a hundred times. It's one of the few recipes I can make without a recipe card. But I was distracted because of the printing thing and totally forgot that step.
So I burned supper and now my aunts have just left to get takeout for us.
I know it's lame, but I couldn't help it. I started to cry.
It's just been such a sucky day.
:(
