HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This year I am thankful for my friends, my family, and all of you online here on LiveJournal (and the gals at TJThyne.com), for your love and wonderful kindness. I cannot express enough how much your support has meant to me.

I am thankful that I've been able to go back to school with the financial support of a generous state agency that helps people who've been laid off from their jobs. I'm thankful that I really like my classes and all the knowledge I'm absorbing. And I'm reeeeeally thankful that I'm almost done with school (only 5 classes left after this semester!) so that I can finally have room in my schedule to take on new challenges as well as relax and enjoy life a little more.

I'm thankful that even though I don't have a job right now, I have a roof over my head, a car that runs, and a family that's been willing to look out for me when I needed their support the most.

I'm thankful for the weather today. A bit windy but the sun's been peeking out from behind the clouds, enough to keep the temperature warm for a nice walk through the neighborhood.

I'm thankful for music, which entertained me on my walk today, and which inspires me and comforts me and makes me laugh and shake my butt and feel joy every day. Music = ♥

I'm thankful for creative people. They make the world vibrant and interesting and wonderful. And it can be any kind of creativity, from knitting to painting to singing to writing a story, for fun, hobby or career. Makes no difference! As director Steven Soderbergh once said in his Oscar acceptance speech, "I want to thank anyone who spends part of their day creating. I don't care if it's a book, a film, a painting, a dance, a piece of theater, a piece of music. Anybody who spends part of their day sharing their experience with us. I think the world would be unlivable without art." Right on, Mr. Soderbergh.

In that spirit... I was swamped with schoolwork last year so I didn't take time to say thanks for this, but I want to now (as I did this morning over on TJThyne.com): I'm really thankful to TJ for a lot of things. Personally, I'm thankful that he took a chance and let me write his new website bio. That meant a lot to me, to be able to give that a try, and I hope that he's proud of the end result, because it's his inspiring and energetic approach to his career that is so impressive and I would love for more people to see that. I want people to see his talent and his zest for acting (and life!). But overall, I'm just thankful for TJ as a person. His kind and joyful spirit, his willingness to be available to his fans, and -- always wonderful -- his remarkable example as a positive force in the world. His positive energy and attitude are fantastic (not to mention infectious). I'm proud to be a fan of TJ Thyne.

And this Thanksgiving I'm especially thankful for my health and the good health of my friends and family. I'm really relieved and glad that I don't have cancer. (As if that needs to be said! LOL.) And I'm grateful that I had your support through that madness, worry and anxiety. Thank you most of all for that.

Happy Thanksgiving, Susan! I hope you and your family have a fantastic day together.

Just think: it was five years ago Thanksgiving-time when you took me in for a week, back when my job finally ended with Washington Mutual. You offered me a mental reprieve to get away from all that stress at a time when I really needed it, and I thank you SO much for that. You've been a generous and wonderful friend, and I am so grateful. I can only hope that I can be as good a friend to you.

You've been a great friend I'm very grateful for. We can always talk about things, and one of life's greatest things is knowing there's someone there available when you need to talk. Also, anyone who's enjoyed my K backstory or wanted to go on to Topaz has you to thank, because without your deep interest (and incredible volume of very helpful feedback) on S, it's likely my XF muse never would have reignited enough for me to continue working on this story universe.

I assume you're in Green Bay for the weekend? Hope you have a good time.
