Ever sell anything on ebay?

I have something I might sell on ebay, but I've never done anything like that before and am wondering if any of you have ever done this and have any information or advice you could provide.

For example, the site mentions charging me (as seller) for various selling fees, but doesn't specify how much those fees are or will be. How do I know what kind of fees they're talking about? How high could these fees go? If they're ridiculous, it might be more beneficial for me to simply eat the cost of the item rather than spend all this time and effort trying to sell it and end up paying way more in fees than I get for it as a purchased item.

Anyone have any advice?

Do you do auctions or fixed price "buy it now" or a mix of both? Have you found luck either way? Have you had items that just don't sell?

I do a mix. Usually I set the starting price at 99cents and then I do a Buy It Now for whatever I'm looking to get. Sometimes the bids go WAY over my buy it now price, sometimes it is way below. I've not sold items before and Ebay has an easy way to relist them. I eventually get them sold. I might have to drop the price or add more pictures or change the description but I do get rid of them. The more descriptive the text, the higher the price seems to go for me. I sell A LOT of clothes. So it's plenty of pictures, measurements, etc. If I sell books, I describe every little nick and stain, just to be safe. I have 100% feedback, which is very rare but I am very careful to make sure the customer is happy no matter what.
