Yesterday I participated in LiveJournal's "Writer's Block" exercise entitled "Two Truths and a Lie," posted here on my LJ, because I found it fun.

What I found even more entertaining were your answers to the question, "Which of these three statements is a lie?"

To refresh your memories, here are the three statements from that post:

1. I bake an awesomely delicious loaf of homemade pumpkin bread.

2. I played a homeless woman in a production of "Rent."

3. I once sang backup for the band Poison.

First of all, [livejournal.com profile] lostakasha, no pumpkin bread for you! *laughs uproariously*

;)

Secondly, [livejournal.com profile] pluschi, if you get the opportunity, you must go see a production of "Rent." It's awesome! Unconventionally good. (Callie will back me up on this. Right, [livejournal.com profile] callieach? *GRIN*)

Finally... the answer to the puzzle.

As the shadowy informant Deep Throat once told Special Agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files: "A lie, Mister Mulder, is most convincingly hidden between two truths."

#2 is the lie.

Though I know many of the lyrics to songs from "Rent," I have not yet had occasion to be in a production of it. Thank you to those who thought I could have been. Heeee.

Which means, yes, I do make a mean loaf of pumpkin bread (at least, so I've been told, heh), and yes, I really have sung backup for Poison. *wicked grin*

Rock on!

P.S. That XF reference was for all my X-Phile friends, though I will admit I first thought of [livejournal.com profile] bardsmaid when I remembered the quote. :)

I would love to be in a production of Rent, wouldn't you? Hey, if you did audition, what role would you most want? Maureen? Mimi? Joanne? :)

But yes, sadly, I have not done Rent. Yet. ;) And because you are so smart and quietly muttered into your elbow like you did, I knew you had the right answer! (Heeee.)

And now I desire details as so this Poison backup-ing.

Hehhhh. I will write something up and post it to my LJ. It's not as sordid as one might think, but it was still very fun. *GRIN*

Rent would be crazy fun to do. Hmmm... that's a good question. Joanne would be fun, but I'm pale as ol' get out. Maureen would also be fun, but I'm pretty sure I'll never have the energy to pull that performance off for more than one night in a row. So I'd guess I'd have to settle for that ensemble part that does Mark's Mom, among others. So I'd get to do Voicemail #1, which is probably one of my favourite numbers in the whole show.

What about you? Who would you want to be?

I will write something up and post it to my LJ. It's not as sordid as one might think, but it was still very fun.

LOL. Oh, Sherry. I could never think of anything you've done as sorid. You're simply too nice and lovable. ;) But I can't wait for the story!
