"This is your life. This is your journey. You are the Hero..."

~ Lee Smith

Today I DANCED.

I put on this song, cranked it up, and I just let loose. Completely. Hair flying, hips shaking, who-gives-a-fuck-who's-watching, absolute lunacy.

I wasn't trying to exorcise pain or depression. I thought that's what I was feeling, but it's not either of those things.

I'm trying to rid myself of apathy. Emptiness. Holding pattern blahhh.

I feel like -- if I just keep doing this, keep singing and dancing about, taking in the music, and remember to hold onto what it does for me --

I might, just might, be able to get my joy back.

Then the sky opens up and everything feels possible.

:D

There's really nothing like music.

After reading and commenting on your previous post, this one gives me an automatic grin. I like to think you are getting your joy back, bit by bit, every time you sing or dance or smile, or, hell, just keep living.

Music is, by far, the best cure for apathy. (Or lack of motivation, or numbed anguish, or self-doubt, or boredom.)

I surely hope so. I just have to remember to keep doing those things that make me feel so happy. Like singing, or writing, or dancing crazy around the house.

*hugs you for your wonderful, thought-provoking words*

All so true, Dakotah. Thanks for reminding me. I needed it!

And the lovely message on your kick-ass, heart-breaking Hodgins & Brennan user pic gave me a good nudge, too. Thanks for that!

As long as you let on when you need reminding, I'll be more than happy to do it. :)

I do make good use of this icon, don't I? Not only do I love the episode dearly, but the notion in this scene - that whatever you're contemplating is going to make or break you, but you can't give up until you try - is one to remember.

Let on when I need reminding? Ah see, now you're starting to get a glimpse of my ridiculous personality. *GRIN* I am more than happy to be there for others, but find it terribly difficult to ask for the same in return. I find it excruciating. Isn't that silly?

Nevertheless, I will try harder to let you know.

:)

Yes, you use that icon well, and it's wonderful. I love that moment, that scene, that whole episode. The message is powerful.
